Product Description
ST52 is a steel backed, photopolymer coated, alcohol developed plate. These plates are superior in durability to both WS-43 & WS-73 water wash and S43 alcohol developed plates. These plates can last 50,000 print impressions or more.
*The photopolymer color is a red. Sold in packages of 5 (5 plates per pack).
*The maximum emission of the UV light source should be between 360-380 nm.
*The most suitable type of washout is a flat container to hold the alcohol developer and a plush brush for the friction removal of the unexposed / dissolved material.
*immerse the exposed plate in the water and rub with brush to remove unexposed material.
*The developer is a special alcohol-water mixture made for alcohol washable plates.
-Art Exposure time: 90-120 seconds (Using the All American EB-320 plate exposure unit)
-Screen Tint Exposure time: 90 seconds (less time for more depth/more time for less depth in the etch)
-Washout time: (using Alcohol Plate Developer) 2 minutes @ 35 degrees Centigrade/ 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
-Drying time: minimum of 20 minutes @ 80 Centigrade / 175 Fahrenheit
-Post Exposure time: minimum of 20-30 minutes
*A densely imaged black on the art film is critical to getting a proper etch depth. If the image is not dense enough to block the UV light, the resulting etch will be too shallow.
**Exposure times are suggested times and will vary according to the relative strength of a particular light source.
